Description
Body compressed, with a single dorsal fin and lunate caudal fin, the pelvic fins not formed into a ventral sucking disk. With 4-5 branchiostegal rays. The mouth is small and the gill openings are restricted. Vertebrae 22-23. With lateral line, gas bladder and parietal bones.
