Body compressed; eyes moderate in size; jaws not projectile, bearing setiform, tricuspid teeth; spine on preopercle; scales small en ctenoid; lateral line complete; anal fin with 4 spines; caudal fin with 16 principal rays.
Distribution
Small family of marine and brackish-water fishes from the Indo-West Pacific Region.
