Description
2 pores on chin followed by a median groove or pit. Preopercle concave, finely serrated. Mouth rather small, maxilla not reaching beyond front of orbit. Teeth in jaws only, in several rows, pointed, outer series enlarged. Vertebrae 26.
Distribution
Of the 31 species, inhabiting shallow coastal waters, Pomadasys crocro is known to travel up rivers.
